1. License
Hey Look! is free, open-source software released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify and distribute it under that license. If these terms and the MIT License conflict regarding the Software’s code, the MIT License prevails.
2. Free of charge; support is a gift
The Software is free. No account, subscription or payment is needed. Voluntary support (through Ko-fi, a bank transfer or otherwise) is a gift: it does not buy a license, features, support, updates or any other service.
3. No service, no support obligation
Hey Look! is software you run yourself, not a service we operate. We have no obligation to provide support, maintenance, updates, fixes, compatibility with any mail provider or system, or continued availability of the Software, its downloads, this website or the update check. Any of these may change or stop at any time without notice.
4. Your accounts and your responsibility
You connect your own mail accounts and remain bound by your providers’ terms (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo and others). You are responsible for your accounts, your credentials, the mail you send and the settings you choose (for example trusting a server’s certificate or configuring an AI endpoint), and for keeping backups of anything important. The copy on your mail server is the authoritative one; the app’s local copy may be incomplete or removed.
5. Third-party services
Sign-in, mail delivery, your AI endpoint, GitHub (downloads and update checks) and other services are provided by third parties under their own terms. We do not control them and are not responsible for them, their availability or how they handle your data.
6. AI Assistant
Text produced by the AI endpoint you configure comes from that service and may be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Review it before you rely on it or send it.
7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE AND THIS WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE, THIS WEBSITE OR THEIR USE, INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA OR MAIL, MISSED, DELAYED OR MISDIRECTED MESSAGES, ACCOUNT LOCK-OUTS, SECURITY INCIDENTS, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; there, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
9. Ending use
You may stop using Hey Look! at any time by removing your accounts and uninstalling it (see the Privacy Policy, section 7).
10. Changes
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
11. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms do not limit rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
